How do “GLP-1s” work?

These medications – including Ozempic, Mounjaro, Zepbound, Saxenda, Rybelsus, Victoza, and Wegovy – work in a different way than other weight-loss medications. They mimic a hormone in the body called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), lowering blood sugar after a meal.
